An acquisition, a new factory, and exciting new recruits: 2023 has been a whirlwind for CPL Aromas, we think you’ll agree that we’ve been hard at work. Let’s reflect on our impeccable growth and the results that have come with it.

Global Fragrances Labs acquisition

Undoubtedly the most significant milestone of 2023 was the acquisition of Global Fragrances Labs in Spain, and their entire operations in El Prat de Llobregat, Barcelona.

Since then, CPL Aromas Spain and the new site have unified – intensifying our place in the Spanish fragrance landscape.

As the year comes to a close, we’re looking forward to further innovation and expansion in 2024 – as well as continuing to best serve CPL’s customer base with more resources, and deliver the utmost value.

Malaysia factory

This year, a new factory in Malaysia opened its doors – bustling with new innovations, machinery, and an excited team ready to provide fast and top quality production to a new (as well as existing) customer base in the ASEAN region. Our most sustainable factory yet, led by Kennedy Chua, has been a great success since its opening in September and the team can’t wait to continue to serve Malaysia, Hong Kong, and surrounding regions in the year ahead.

EcoVadis certificate

It’s undeniable that one of our most significant achievements in terms of credentials is the renewal of the EcoVadis Platinum Certificate for 2023-24. With an improved score rating of 83, CPL Aromas is in the top 1% of companies who have completed the assessment. This is an outstanding accomplishment and serves as a true testament to our company’s incredible and continuous environmental and social efforts.

New recruits and roles

The team has continued to grow with many colleagues joining CPL Aromas’ force this year. Among these new recruits is Julien Rasquinet, the newest addition to the Perfumer fleet – who has created extraordinary ripples since his introduction to the French team.

Our year took an exciting turn as we made a strategic decision to bring all our social media and marketing efforts in-house. This led to the establishment of our dynamic Global Brand Marketing & Communications Team. Nelly Di Mercurio, Emily Austin, Adriana Pichardo and Aimee Williams joined forces to spearhead our marketing initiatives, infusing creativity, innovation, and a fresh perspective into every campaign.

Additional recruits include Jens Metternich, Sales Director for Germany, Aruna Rangaswamy, Evaluation Development Manager at CPL India, and Véronique Bradbury who has been promoted to R&D Global Director.

Expanding perfumer palette

We’re always looking for ways to expand our perfumer palettes - investigating what ingredients can be developed that make our customers (and their consumers) tick. This year, Night Blooming Jasmine, Coffee, and Forest bases among many others were crafted, using innovative AromaSpace technology. The contemporary Leather AromaFusion was also created, adding a new, luxurious aroma to our existing palette of enchanting materials.

Charity

2023 marks another year of continuing to further our charitable efforts, and make a positive impact around the globe. One of these was the “Sixth Sense Workshop" in collaboration with ITC Limited, India, which gave visually-impaired people the opportunity to develop fragrance evaluation skills, and gain a certificate for career progression.

CPL Aromas has also donated to Emmaus UK, a miraculous charity aiding those who are facing, or have faced, homelessness and social exclusion. This donation is to fund the first year's salary of a brand new role in Companion Development and Wellbeing.

Finally, we’re continuing to aid CAFOD – including donating to the 'Fix the Food System' campaign, offering work and fair wages to Bangladeshi women and landless individuals in the rice trade.

A huge congratulations to our team on the success they have achieved this year. We wish you as well as our clients, friends and family an incredible new year. Thank you for another year of your unwavering support.
