Job Purpose

The Quality, Safety and Environmental Manager is responsible for coordinating QSHE activities at sites across Europe.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Co-ordination, maintenance and implementation for Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety policies & procedures
  • Management, investigation and resolution of customer complaints, internal non-conformities and vendor complaints:
    • Providing sales teams with feedback on complaint progression and resolution
    • Complilation of reports for various internal parties and analysis of complaints for trends
    • Attending and co-ordinating meetings - providing information, trends, minutes
    • Liaise with departments for timely resoultionof outstanding issues
    • Work with buying to close outstanding VCR's and prevent build up of rejected goods
  • Collation of gas, electrivity and water consumption figures and reconcilation of these against utility bills. Compilation of monthly graphs and publications of quarterly environmental reports
  • Participation in leading internal QSHE system audits and ensure internal sudit schedule is maintained, including support of internal auditors - training and guidance
  • Participation in external audits and primary contact for liaison with external certification bodies
  • Ensures compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  • Liaison with internal departmetns and external providers to ensure relevant QSHE training and methodology is maintained and working with other departments to reach consensus and achieve positive outcomes resulting in improved business performance
  • Ensure risk assessments and safe systems of work are carried out
  • Investigations of incidents, analysis of trends and implementation of corrective actions
  • Continuous improvement projects
  • Implementation and interpretation of new knowledge with Environmental and Health and Safety field
  • Answer LTSD's, customer questionnaires, ethical questionnaires etc
  • Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor - support to the business, guidance on labelling, identification and packaging etc

Skills & attributes required

The ideal candidate wil have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Experience in QHSE management within a manufacturing background would be a distinct advantage
  • A highly organised and professional approach to managing a demanding workload
  • Excellent communication skills to influence decision makers, communicatie with internal teams and promote continuous improvement
  • Self motivated with the ability to show initiative and able to work to deadlines
  • A formal professional qualifications in Health and Saftey (e.g NEBOSH or IOSH) would be preferred
  • A formal professional qualifications in Dangerous Good Transport would be advantageous
  • A good eye of detail and statistics
