Job Purpose

The Dubai Financial Controller is responsible for the financial management of the Dubai divisions – Sales & Manufacturing. This is a senior role with the CPL Global Finance Team and will work closely with the CFO, Group FC, General Managers of the Dubai divisions, along with other members of the Global Finance team

Tasks & responsibilities


  • Support the Sales division in driving sales opportunities
  • Provide Margin control and analysis to the sales division
  • Work with the Sales Division to establish, and manage all 3rd party Agents and Distributors relationships
  • Promote margin maximisation initiatives across the divisions
  • Ensure effective commercial processes are in place covering, prices, credit limits, credit terms order management
  • Run weekly debtors/collection meetings with the Sales division
  • Collaborate with the management of the Sales & Manufacturing divisions in achieving objectives
  • Work with the Manufacturing Division to establish and manage 3rd party service provider relationships


  • Maintain and continuously improve the financial controls for the Dubai Divisions
  • Ensure the Dubai divisions adhere to the global authority matrix
  • Ensure suitable segregation of duties is maintain within the Dubai finance team
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including intergroup accounts, to ensure a clean balance sheet position is reported on a monthly basis
  • Coordinate with Group Finance for accounting standards, Group Services cost accounting
  • Responsibility for VAT filing and compliance
  • Manage the CPL Aromas FZE bank accounts in conjunction with Group Finance
  • Ensure all ERP development requirements are defined, detailed and tested for acceptance


Reporting, Analysis, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Adhere to the group finance timetables and requirements
  • Provide timely, accurate and relevant performance reports to the Dubai Divisions
  • Undertake investigative analysis into performance variances
  • Provide insightful commentaries to support management reporting
  • Lead all Dubai divisions forecasts and budget processes
  • Establish efficient reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with Group Finance on developing ground reporting standards and catalogues.
  • Responsible for the Dubai Divisions inputs to the Group Audit.
  • Maintain an accurate and complete cashflow forecast for the Dubai Division


  • Day to day management & motivation of the Dubai Finance team
  • Define and implement development plans for each team member
  • Undertake cross function & cross division projects and responsibilities in keeping with group needs
  • Be an Active member of the global finance team.
  • Adhere to group and local health, safety, environmental & quality procedures

Skills & attributes required

  • Proven working experience as a Financial controller
  • A Professional accounting qualification
  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrable people management experience
  • Experience of working within a group of companies
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Substantial ERP experience, preferably MS AX Dynamics.
  • Professional & effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to inspire and promote creative ideas working cross-functionally
