Sunday April 5 2020, marks the first International Day of Conscience, a day set aside by the United Nations to promote freedom, justice, democracy, human rights, tolerance and solidarity.
Here at CPL Aromas, we believe in sharing our resources with some of the most marginalised communities of the world. We commit a proportion of our profits every year to working with a range of projects that are committed to impacting society for the better. To that end, we are longstanding partners with CAFOD (Catholic Agency for Overseas Development) and work with their inspiring teams on a variety of projects every year.
In the current global pandemic, it can be easy to think of your own situation, and difficult to comprehend how this will affect those less fortunate in those countries with poor health systems. On Thursday 3rdApril, CPL listened in on a webinar held by CAFOD about how coronavirus is affecting CAFOD’s work around the world and the procedures put in place to ensure the staff and local aid teams on the ground are putting safety first. Every one of their supported projects will have a different need, and CAFOD will respond in accordance. This is not the first time that their country teams and aid experts have experienced a fast-moving virus and their aim is to continue to provide the vulnerable people in communities with life-saving hygiene information they need.
