Barrington hall was the venue for this year’s Agents Conference which took place on the 5th, 6th & 7th of July. The conference was attended by 22 CPL agents from a total of 14 countries many of whom were visiting Barrington Hall for the first time.

This year’s event was themed “Creativity in Fragrance” and provided an excellent opportunity for our agents and distributors to expand their knowledge of CPL and listen to presentations on new R&D technologies, marketing concepts as well as updates on important regulatory issues.

A new feature this year was a testing interactive and competitive element that split the delegates into teams who were then tasked with developing a fine fragrance concept which included the idea of a name, packaging design together with the marketing strategy and of course the creation of a fragrance. The teams received expert advice from CPL’s perfumers, evaluators and marketing execs in their quest to develop the winning concept. The teams presented their finished fragrance and concept to the CPL board of directors who were tasked with picking a winner.

Of special interest to the delegates, this year, was the presentation of new Aromaguard™ fragrances suitable for depilatories. A range of 13 tried and tested fragrances were shown in application and were thought to be excellent in tackling this very difficult product.

Also included in the conference was a working group session in which delegates had the choice of receiving expert training in either sales or marketing to further develop their skills when promoting CPL across the globe.

The hard work during the day was followed by fun and relaxation in the evening with events such as “In door Horse Racing”, Wine tasting, BBQ’s, Live music and much more besides.

We thank all the CPL agents for attending the conference and trust it has expanded their knowledge of our company and the products we have to offer.

An exciting opportunity for a dynamic role requiring excellent analytical ability, as well as core technical programming skills, in order to deliver the finished solutions to the business. The role requires a practical and resourceful person with the ability to understand business needs and deliver required solutions in a timely manner.

The role offers an opportunity to work with a diverse set of existing applications as well as to explore and utilise new technologies. Training opportunities are available in order to fill any skill gaps within the requirements outlined below.

Key skills

The candidate should be comfortable working with databases, ideally with experience of Microsoft SQL Server covering aspects such as database administration, writing of stored procedures, functions and views, as well as creating new databases and tables.
Strong analytical skills in order to analyse the business requirements and offer effective solutions is essential. This involves communicating with end-users in order to ascertain requirements before delivering a solution. This will require the ability to communicate at all levels of the business in order to discuss and understand the business needs.

General scripting experience such as Powershell or Windows Script Host would be an advantage.
